Donate items for display or for the library

The Lawrence County Museum of History welcomes gifts of artifacts, books, historical documents, photographs, audiovisual materials, and other items pertaining to the history of Lawrence County and the surrounding region.

If you have an item or document that you believe may have historical significance and you want to protect it and share it with the community, you can donate it to the Lawrence County Museum of History and Edward L. Hutton Research Library.

Your item will be cataloged and made available for gallery display. Gallery exhibits change periodically. Due to space limitations, all items cannot be  permanently displayed, but efforts are made to rotate items from storage to display as often as possible.

Donors are asked to submit a Deed of Gift Form to the museum providing background information about the history of the objects under consideration.

The Deed of Gift Form may be filled out ahead of time or completed at the museum.
